GRACE COVENANT CHURCH IS AFFILIATED WITH THE EVANGELICAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Grace Covenant Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) denomination. The EPC consists of more than 600 churches with upwards of 171,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Compared to other American Presbyterian denominations the EPC theologically lies in the middle. The EPC believes in historic Christianity as taught in Scripture, thus we look to the Bible as our guide on moral issues and believe in the reality of sin, salvation, and judgment. At the same time, the EPC wants to give evidence of what we consider a mark of the true church—loving fellowship—by holding our convictions with charity toward others, and charitably allowing a diversity of views on non-essential issues. The EPC identifies positively with those Presbyterian denominations which hold to biblical authority.
Grace Covenant Church supports our denomination’s positions on a variety of subjects of recurring or currently compelling interest to itself, the Christian community, and the world. An EPC Position Paper identifies the position of the EPC to the world. Each Position Paper is intended to set forth the "mind" of the General Assembly on some particular issue or subject. It is not intended to be a thorough theological statement, nor a complete exegetical biblical study. Position Papers are neither part of the EPC Constitution nor represent in-and-of-themselves "essentials" of the church.
GRACE COVENANT CHURCH IS A MEMBER OF THE PRESBYTERY OF THE EAST
Being Presbyterian means being connected in mutual accountability and responsibility. Just as individual Christians are connected to one another as members of the body of Christ, individual congregations are connected under Christ as the great Head of the Church. Presbyteries are the regional governing and missional bodies of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Grace Covenant Church is a member of the Presbytery of the East (POTE). There are currently 43 member churches in the POTE.
